Q & A

Here are some common questions asked regarding quartz or granite worktops.

What is the difference between a quartz and granite worktop?
Quartz is generally 93% quartz and the rest is a mixture of polymers and dyes. Quartz is uniform in colour, which means it maintains the same colour/pattern throughout unlike granite, which varies as it is 100% natural stone and therefore each worktop will be unique in pattern and colouring.

What is stronger granite or quartz?
Quartz is the strongest worktop material on the market, although granite is sturdy.

Are quartz and granite chip resistant?
No worktop is resistant against chipping however; granite & quartz are the strong worktop materials and therefore make suitable kitchen work surfaces. It is possible to chip or scratch with a sharp implement therefore we always advise the use of a worktop saver/chopping board for protection.

Can I see your samples?
Yes of course. When you have booked a template one of our team will show you our range of coloured samples or we can send one or two in the post.

What is better granite or quartz?
Granite and quartz are both beautiful materials and it is down to individual preference. Quartz is modern with a radiant uniform finish and Granite is 100% natural stone with each slab is unique in pattern and colour formation.

How do I look after my granite/Quartz worktop?
Keep handy a bottle of anti-bacterial soapy warm water to clean the surface daily. Do not use harsh products or bleach. See our care guide.

Will my worktop fit my sink and hob?
Yes. However, you must have your sink and hob onsite when our templater arrives so that he can account for this when he measures for your new worktop. If not then you will have to reschedule a template and a repeat templating fee will incur.

How long will it take to get my new worktop?
Generally, from template, it takes up to 10 days to fit your worktop. However, on occasions, a certain material may not be in stock due to a delay in shipment and that is out of our personal control. However usually all our colours are in stock.
